Austria: Europ Assistance helps manage chronic diseases
Diabetes, heart, cardiac or skeletal problems… chronic diseases have strong repercussions on a patient’s daily life, demanding a strong and long-term support. Beyond medical care, access to information, social and occupational support can help significantly improve the patient’s quality of life.
To ensure an efficient and complete care focused around the patient rather than on the disease, Europ Assistance Austria has launched a Chronic Disease Management programme. Dedicated to owners of a Generali health insure policy (selected according to medical criteria) the programme ensures a professional medical, social and occupational support according to their individual needs.
Case management has already begun for the first fifty patients, with the numbers set to grow over the next few months. A complete Europ Assistance Austria’s Chronic Disease Management team manages the support: nurses, medical sports specialists, dieticians, psychologists and physiotherapists. Their mission: provide real answers to the patients’ needs and concerns, through impeccable care, but also in a more efficient processing of Generali’s health insurance claims.
The innovative programme is the latest development in Europ Assistance Austria's medical assistance packages for insurance clients, following the creation of a medical hotline, rehabilitation management, prevention and second opinion services… all strong added value personalised solutions.
