1963
It all began with the vision of one man - Pierre Desnos. After hearing about the many difficulties encountered by a couple of his friends when they had an accident abroad, Pierre Desnos started looking at what was lacking at the time in terms of personal protection for people travelling overseas. With support from André Rosa, Chief Executive Officer of the Concorde Insurance Company - founded in France by Generali in 1905 -, he founded Europ Assistance in Paris.
The company began operations with a multilingual switchboard, a medical team, 12 permanent staff members at the head office and agents in 17 different countries – during the first year, 160 assistance operations were carried out.
Europ Assistance had just invented a new trade - that of modern medical (emergency and disaster medical treatment and transportation) and motor assistance.
1964
Creation of the first Europ Assistance company abroad, in Belgium.
1965

1967
