As pioneers of assistance services, the Group invented an original concept enabling it to evolve both over time and beyond frontiers by continually anticipating the changes in society.
With its millions of customers and its agents and service providers across the globe, Europ Assistance now has more than 40 years unequalled experience.

Europ Assistance is established in the United Kingdom.

This year saw the number of customers increasing rapidly from 1,400,000 to 2,400,000. Europ Assistance became the world leader in the assistance market in spite of the progress made by its competitors.

Europ Assistance is established in Luxembourg. First stage of diversification with the launch of specific company contracts to cover employees travelling overseas, and expatriates.

Europ Assistance is established in Spain. Europ Assistance celebrated its ten millionth customer and introduced contracts covering far away countries like Brazil, Japan and Kenya.

Fire at the "Los Alfaques" campsite in Spain. Europ Assistance immediately intervened with 7 medical services aircraft to repatriate the victims of this catastrophe.

Europ Assistance is established in Germany.
