5 areas of development to prepare the future
Population growth and modern life styles have created the need
for new services. Europ Assistance intends to reply to these new customer and consumer
needs, all of which have the potential for considerable growth over the coming years.
Our objective is to double the size of the Group and triple its profitability by centering
its strategy on 5 main lines of business.
Our dynamic is centered around 4 activities
Europ Assistance intends to become a major player in the market for personal
services. On the basis of experience acquired in its two areas of historical activity
– Travel and Automobile Assistance, the Group is expanding the range of services
offered by developing two new areas of business - healthcare and home and family care.
These activities will represent a third of global turnover by 2010.
Selective global expansion
With more than 85% of turnover, Western Europe is historically the centre
of activity for Europ Assistance. True to its pioneer spirit, the Group continues
to extend its activities in emerging countries. After analysing some 50 countries,
it is now developing its activity on several clearly identified and selected high
potential markets, notably in China, the United States and Brazil.
Development of New Distribution Methods
Europ Assistance is consolidating the links it has with its historical partners,
among which its shareholder Generali, and is diversifying its distribution networks.
Health Insurers, administrators, new players in the health care market and direct
sales to the public through the Internet are increasingly becoming more and more desirable
as distribution channels and offer opportunities for close contacts with customers.
Organic growth
In order to double annual turnover and triple profitability between now and
2010, organic growth remains a priority. However, sector-based or targeted local acquisitions
and links established within local markets also assist us in achieving these ambitious
goals.
An organisation adapted to objectives
To ensure growth, Europ Assistance's structure was completely redefined in 2004:
- Four Regions were defined to enable more efficient and closer management of the
Group's companies, as well as better sharing of best practices according to geographical
locations,
- 2 new Divisions were created: the International Health Solutions Division (IHS)
and the Automotive International Sales and Marketing Division (AISM),
- 4 new functional directions were set up: Re-engineering Operations and IT Central
Direction, Central Risk Direction, Innovative Marketing and International Sales Direction
and Group Communication and Social Responsibility Direction.
