Stop and smell the roses…it’s what Aussie and Kiwi travellers do best! 🌹
With Valentine’s Day around the corner, it’s a fitting reminder that slowing down and savouring the moments we love, especially when travelling, is what truly matters.
Our Holiday Barometer shows that 71% of Aussies and Kiwis are putting their foot on the ‘breaks’, choosing to slow down and embrace every moment while travelling the world – and we don’t blame them!

So, what else do our travellers love?
🏔️For 56% of Kiwis, slowing down comes naturally as they prefer immersing themselves in nature and spending time in green spaces, whether that’s a mountain hike or picnic in a national park.
🏖️Aussies are torn, with 48% equally charmed by the hustle and bustle of city life and pull of the coastal seaside (48%).
🧑🍳Cultural discovery is key when it comes to exploring new places, with 34% of Aussies diving into local flavours by joining a cooking class.
It’s clear travellers are seeking more than a place to switch off and rather chasing opportunities to fully immerse themselves in their destination, and it’s exciting to see!
